    OMG THEY NERFED UIP!

And changed other stuff :D Yay!

    See the changelog here:

    http://scrolls.com/2013/05/scrolls-changlog-0-87

Not the most dramatic of updates this time around but we thought it was worth keeping you in the loop. .87 is mostly concerned with tweaks to existing Scrolls. Some server-side features also getting tested but, unless you live inside the code like Mans, you probably won’t notice.

As mentioned in my last post, Scrolls is rapidly approaching open beta (when you’ll be able to buy it at at discounted price and get future updates for free) but it’s not quite there yet. Watch this space for more info.

    Features

    • The config dialog on launching the game (for setting resolution) has been removed. Now you select your resolution in-game, and your preferred option gets saved

    Scrolls

    • Blast Strike’s (Energy) art has been updated. You can see it at the top of this post
    • Unleash Inner Power (Growth) now sets health to 2 instead of 1
    • Faith Blessing (Order) has been changed. New: Cost 2. Sacrifice target unit to deal its Countdown as damage to all units on the same row
    • Rigged (Energy) now costs 1
    • Vaettr of the Wild (Growth) now costs 1
    • Cannon Automaton (Energy) is now 5/2/4 and reduces all combat damage dealt to it by 1
    • Metal Heart’s (Energy) description has been updated to better match what it does (thanks Arithmos!)
    • Desperation (Energy) no longer lasts too long when cast on an opponent unit
    • End of Reason (Energy) has been changed. New: Cost 5. Sacrifice all units you control with a non-zero Countdown. Each unit sacrificed this way deals 2 damage to opponent units on the same row
    • Royal Infantryman (Order) and Ducal Infantryman (Order) have had their descriptions updated to better match how they work

    Known issues

    • Users running Avast will need to disable it temporarily in order to login. We’re looking into why this happens

  • posted a message on Controls

I would love if there are two different sets of controls for PC and for tablet/android. Mostly because I enjoy sitting at a desk playing on a PC more than I do hunched over my android. lol

    That's my 2 cents.

Hey I think it would be neat if we could message players while they were in-game, or if you could poke them or something, to let them know you are online.

Often times players come on and play against the AI for lack of a human player, and then a human player comes on and plays against the AI for the same reason. These players want to play against eachother but don't want to wait around in the lobby. If one of them could alert the other while they were against the AI they could quit and come to the lobby and play a game against the human opponent.

    Thoughts?

It sounds good but I feel it is just a feel-good pr stunt by some companies, but the majority of them will still rape and pillage in Africa and elsewhere. I think it is dubious at best. It is evidenced by the fact that they only do this because it is required by law for them to do it as they are mining in a state forest. In Canada our government has just given Chinese government corporations exemption from Canadian law when it comes to their "investments" which are of course going to be in the form of resource extraction. This is the "new normal" that we can expect - profit and investment taking precedence over human lives and environmental concerns. Environmentalism is still a fringe movement because of so much anti-environmentalist and pro-industry/business propaganda. Think of Avatar. Even after that movie, people were confused about its meaning. Its about military and industry in bed together. "Fascism is best defined as the merger of state and corporate power" - Mussolini.

You mean a unit sacrificed by a spell such as fertile soil or end of reason?

Well I think you might be on to something...

  • posted a message on Metal Heart

    Just a thought here.

Metal Heart says, "Target creature gains attack equal to the number of structures you control".

Well I drew the card and happened to control no structures. So I cast it on my opponents unit, thinking, "hey this will make him have zero attack.", but nope, it gave him two attack because the opponent controlled two structures.

Wording should change probably to "equal to the number of friendly structures", or it should not be able to be cast on opponents unit, or it should act as a major debuff when you control zero structures.

Hmm... well I think even Knights Scholar should be able to do it every time his countdown is at zero... it is his ability to do that when his countdown is at zero. Might be something to consider as it increases combo possibilities. Right now there is very little reason to use Knights Scholar ability as the attack is usually more valuable - however if you could use speed to draw two scrolls in the same turn that would make Knights Scholar much more valuable. I don't think it is OP to do this because Speed (or other CD manipulations) are valuable in and of themselves and so it is a double edged sword if you want to use the speed on the knights scholar. With Gravelock Outcast, most of the time it will be impossible to heal it to full health twice in the same turn except with special combos like iron whip or something. I just think the potential gameplay options increase when you allow this and it adds a bit more depth to these abilities and scrolls.

Yeah that could be very neat! mint condition? That might be cool.  2v2 would be sweet. Maybe like a tag-team match. I also hope they have a deathmatch option, where you start with 5 resources or something and an option to reduce the time per turn. You could have blitz games with only 10 seconds per turn or something.
