Oh hey! Look at you handsome. Quite an interesting card here. Growth... Doesn't usually need accel. But this guy could be quite interesting? I'm thinking dropping him turn 2 and then going for quick Great Wolves, so we're talking turn 1 ragged, turn 2 this, turn 3 Mangy, Turn 4 Great Wolf. He'll die if you sneeze at him, but on the other hand any burn used on him isn't being used as a Brave! Maybe throw a Drydic power on him to keep him alive and you could have a turn 6 Godhowl. Very exciting.

Lobbers don't make the biggest impact, probably because they don't threaten Idols. However, if you just drop this guy on the side while the rest of your attack goes off and then BAM, soon as his cooldown hits 0 his friends join him, you could have a swanky 3 damage AOE nuke for the entire field. Its a very Order card, but I don't know if it'll actually see play.

You know what? I think I'll make an Order/Energy Lobber/Ranged Deck. Most Lobbers typically have a low cooldown, but getting them in sync'll stop the other guy from just moving his dudes out of the target zone. Its quite an exciting card.

Its like a Magma pack that doesn't kill your dude! Suddenly, Crossbowman and Scattergunners blast through their lines. Same price as Burn, but squeezes an extra damage out.

All in all, very exciting. Looking forward to the new patch! Looks like we have a bunch of new scrolls coming in, and we haven't even seen decay!

Can beat Hard reliably with "Competitive" decks, but struggle to do it with anything quirky :<

I believe a lot of the problems coming out of Growth/Order now are due to the power of Card Draw - Arguably as big an issue as Quake was. The problem with Quake is that it straight up pooped on any player who had any sort of momentum, which was massively anti-fun. Returning Quake to its previous strength would do more damage to the game then it would fix the Meta I believe, as its a very difficult card for new players to work around which directly contributes to them not spending much time Scrolling :[

I never see Crossbows in ranked - So it might be good for its cost, but until Mono Order starts appearing it's not going to make much impact. If Order gets buffed, might be worth putting Crossbow to 2 Order

  • posted a message on Promo Cards?

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat, please put a promo in the old mans hat :D

With Christmas just over a week away, I was wondering if any thought of Promo cards was going into scrolls? Cards with alternate art, tournament rewards, something you'll get one in a thousand times you use the shop. Right now, the cards with the most value are the competitive cards (Pretty sure its Fertile Soil at the moment :p), which means that those focussing on making the best decks and those focussing on collecting the rarest cards/playing the market are gunning after the same thing! Rare memorials that look like Christmas trees becoming available over Christmas would be super awesome.

So, do people want Promo cards? Are there already plans for Promo cards? Can we all get a copy of Kinfolk Jarl in a Santa Costume over Christmas? It'd be a pretty good way of getting more people to play him!

Stopping creatures from being deployed in a row is something I'm far more on board with (Anything that slows down a hasted veteran is cool for an energy player)

But yea, the game isn't built around stopping a spell mid cast. Annoying? A tiny bit, but I come from a magic background. If the game pushes more towards the board as an actual space that matters (It doesn't seem to be super relevant at the mo, I've seen about two scrolls cast that dick around with movement in the past month) then things might be a bit smoother. The game can do a trap system, it plays into scrolls as a video game instead of a card game, but that's something a developer would be able to talk about in an actual informed manner :p If you could put down a structure that could counter the next scroll of a type, but not tell the opponent what type it was, it might work? I dunno.

Super down with a shielding structure to defend my gravelocks from Quake though

Form A on the first one has more chance of not being massively overpowered then B, but they both feel like pretty unfun forms of control. If there was a scroll that stopped a player from playing anything, I wouldn't put it on a unit
