Ok, I think I got it. You can replicate the problem by doing the following, at least on the Mac version at 1280x800:

    - Go to store
    - Open up the description of a purchase option by pressing the ? button
    - Try to buy but don't have enough gold for it
    - Use the back button to go to main menu

Now when you return to the store or the deck builder, you'll see that the texts have been offset to the left.

This happened to me once as well. Hasn't happened again, don't know how to replicate.

I'm glad Kyradis was way better at articulating my concerns.

MansOlson, I admit that I was playing Energy and took that resource as a representation of the whole. But Kyradis did a better job at bringing up the problem so my points are now moot. :)

Thanks for the lengthy reply. In a nutshell, the gripe I have with this system is that the description of Spiky is misleading, since it says it deals damage to creatures that attack it, even though almost 50% of units ignore this damage.

Somehow it doesn't feel right. Having played a lot of TCGs, something feels off with this wording. It's a minor thing but I'm afraid that as the game gets more complex these things add up to a confusing set of rules. I don't have any other ideas for a solution but the one I wrote though, sorry. :)

Yes but there are cards that refer to "melee units". Therefore there clearly is a distinction between melee and non-melee attacks, and Spiky only applies to melee units even though it doesn't say so in the description.

I don't understand why it isn't better in your opinion to say that "melee attackers" are dealt damage after attacking a unit with Spiky. Melee / ranged attack is a gameplay mechanic, not a unique creature ability. Should Spiky say it deals damage to melee attackers, it still wouldn't close the door for special abilities that prevent damage from retaliation.

I would understand your point is there was some kind of a third attack type that would get damage from spiky, but non-melee / melee covers all types of attacks already.

If in the future there are abilities similar to spiky that deal retaliation damage, the ability "ranged" would have to mention that it negates damage from all of those abilities. I find this considerably more cumbersome than mentioning that spiky only applies to melee attacks in spiky's definition.

I think "ranged" says it ignores spiky, so it's fine? There are no melee units anyways. There are just units with ranged and units without ranged.

Incorrect. There are enchantments whose description says they only target "melee units".

It's simply poor design that Spiky says it deals X damage to attackers, if it does not deal X damage to all attackers. The philosophy when designing scrolls and rules should be that all descriptions are 100% accurate. Even if intuitively the game works as it should, expert deck builders rely on the exact wording to be correct.

You shouldn't have to read the description of "ranged" and "lobber" units to get the required information about a unit that has "spiky".

Spiky says that it deals damage to attacking unit. It should mention that it only works for melee attackers.

The tooltip for Brother of the Wolf's mouseover says the skill has a cost of 2 growth, but the player can cast it for free.

I lost connection when trying to sacrifice a scroll during my turn.

I think I tried to sacrifice before the game drew a scroll + replenished my resources, which might've caused the lost connection. Then when the connection was restored, the client thought I had already sacrificed that turn.

I had the same idea, but with a tentacled monster. It would attempt to do 1 damage to any of your idols each turn if a row was empty, or it would do things like smash an entire row or target a specific creature and move it. Each tentacle would have 10 or so health. The win condition might be buffed to 5 "idols"(tenacles) destroyed, and it would need to have specific spells unique to it, though.

Yeah, there are a lot of bosses types that can work well with the current layout. Could even just be one giant creature that can be hit on any row. Hope this idea gets picked up.
