I can't see why that is a problem? If a new library will come, than you learn a new one, and problem solved. Without jQuery in ‘naked’ JS you would need to handle the different browsers, and it would increase the developement time by 300% if not more. Seriously, this is a bit like saying: “Don't get too attached to your washing machine, because than you can't wash with hand.”
