Ahw damn the things that slip past you when you're not knee-deep in the actual code behind the rules. Sacrificing thru damage is just plain wrong. It's an accident waiting to happen.

I feel like Energy is missing a sort of "huge environmental spell" like God Hand or Imperial Resources, and it makes Energy weaker than the other two.
Probably not a good idea, but by suggestion is "Neural Inhibitor" 8E 'All units' Attack becomes 0 until the end of the opponents next turn.' Just throwing it out as an example of what I mean - besides Fury Energy doesn't have that sort of big effect scroll at all.
I agree. I'll keep this in mind. In the meantime, we've been tinkering with the rarely used End of Reason. It will maybe not be the huge effect you're talking about, but it is sort of half huge. (In the current, unreleased version.)

Hello all,
As some of you have already figured out, we will unfortunately not be able to release the Scrolls beta at the end of April as originally planned. We're all working hard towards having the beta ready (we want it out there as much as you guys!). Unfortunately, those pesky Beast Rats keep biting off our internet cables. That, and we're still finalizing the store features and making sure our servers can handle a large number of users.
We're still releasing the beta "Soon". There will be an announcement on Scrolls.com with the release date at least a week before the date.
We love you all. Please be patient during this last stretch!

Darmky: I too feel that Order is very strong. But there are others who disagree. Problem is that two people who've played a bunch of games is not nearly enough reliable data to know for sure that this is the case. For instance, you are the first one I've ever heard say Crossbowman is 'scandalously OP'.
I don't know for sure if Order is too powerful, but I do feel they are too good all-round. Some of their units should have lower Attack IMO, to strengthen their identity vs the others. But for such a change we first need a higher consensus on the issue.

Spectator mode is very high on my wish list. After beta release we'll have figure out what is most important, and eventually we'll know when spectator mode will be added. Single player campaign is high in prio, and will take a lot of work, so I don't know.. Kind of a non-answer...

Even bad card games like yu-gi-oh and pokemon and duel masters have lifespans that last several years. Scrolls is a good one! It will last that long minimum. Though I suppose at some point everyone who wants it will have bought it already and the poor devs will have trouble making money for all the work it takes to keep introducing new cards.
There will be microtransactions, and we'll definitely try hard to sell stuff. Our efforts to make sure it is not pay to win is only an evil plot to make you like the game and play for years, buying hat after hat after hat.

1. Yes, this we need.
2. New players are automatically assigned to a new general chat after reaching 30 in the first. You can join the first general chat of course. I wouldn't be surprised if we need more work on the chat, but I think it would be a good idea to see the problems live first. To better know how to address what problems.
3. Yes, this we want.

Mattis said the same thing just a few days ago. I agree. Mattis said we should just speed it up a bit, which should do the trick. Resummoning could work, but there's a gameplay difference between movement and summoning.

Small team lol. Haven't been on a team as big as 15 since I started some oh 14 years ago. But in my book Blizzard is the original indie. If you define indie by some "not-large-corporate" standard, you might as well say "hipster" instead. To me Indie is all about who calls the shots. A 200 man team is still indie as long as they don't need to answer to a publisher or other external higher power. But I seem to be alone with this view in the indie scene. Irony...
I personally would say size is part of what makes an indie. The bigger a company is, the more bureaucracy there is, and even those at the top don't call the shots for everything because of this. That said, Blizzard started indie but now it is owned by someone else (Vivendi). They are no longer calling the shots in the end, they answer to people who are worried about the bottom line.
Yeah well you gotta have someone worry about the bottom line, or you won't make many games at all. Maybe you're right that Vivendi disqualifies their indie status. I don't know to what extent they call the shots. I'd be surprised if Blizzard hadn't made sure to have most of the creative control.
