  • posted a message on UNIT and CREATURE difference

There should be differentiation between the words 'unit' and 'creature'.

Targeting a 'Unit' should encompass everything that is currently on the board (both creatures and structures). A card that says "blah blah blah to target creature" should not allow you to target structures as you can now.   Structures should not count as creatures, but should count as units.  Creatures should count as both a unit and a creature.

For example, Fertile Soil reads "sacrifice target CREATURE you control and draw three scrolls", yet you are able to sacrifice anything on your board (such as memorials).    This doesn't even make sense in the context of the card, you can't create mulch out of a granite statue.  Implanting my suggestion would depower the card a good amount, which i believe it still needs.

Another offender of this nomenclature issue is Kinfolk Jarl, who gets powered up by walls even though his text reads 'creatures'.

  • posted a message on Larger board idea

Rather than a 5x3 gameboard, perhaps it should be expanded to a 5x4 board.  I think this would give a lot more room for both strategic unit placement, as well as allow for deeper tactics.  I am a fairly strong chess player and I would love to see this game resemble some of the depth that is seen in chess...and I think a slightly larger board would help.

In the current state of the game unit movement is fairly limited, but new units could have abilities such as "can move twice per turn", or they can move multiple squares at a time like a rook/bishop.  Perhaps flying units can have the ability to 'jump' over friendly units which would make them very mobile.

  • posted a message on Battle-Start and i have 4 cards?

It balanced out the advantage of getting to play first.  One player gets the initiative and the other gets a resource advantage.  I think they did a good job with this idea.
