I think we already know four of the scrolls in Decay though. From the patch notes for 0.72 (October 4th):

    • Lifestealer (Order) has been temporarily removed.
    • Mire Curse (Growth) has been temporarily removed.
    • Bitter Root (Growth) has been temporarily removed.
    • Infected Gravelock (Energy) has been temporarily removed.

Given the theme of these scrolls and that they already had assets implemented, it seems very likely that they got moved into Decay rather than removed, hence the "temporarily".

Ohhh, good catch! I think you're right there! I was really disapointed when my infected gravelocks dissapeared, but now i'm :)

I hope we will able to see about 20 resources, and that you can choose a main resource, which makes scrolls from that resource do it's special ability (if they have one). It would be great.

But damn. We'll start with 4. Slow but well done.

I'd love to see new types, but I think 20 may be too much. Look at the pokemon TCG; they took the 17 types from the video games and compressed it down to 8 (or is it 9 now?) types + colorless.

starter decks which can only be bought using mojang points and which have some good cards in them that are usually quite rare (it would be cheaper to find them in booster packs) and are built around one central idea but dont include all of the cards from that idea set (eg, the yugioh zombie starter deck which didnt include cards like il blud but was still very zombie-based)

finally what is, i feel, the most TGC-ish part of this model - an auction house. one which only operates using mojang points. this means that while people can trade around mojang points, the company never has to give back money for points and most importantly, cards can have a rough value (represented by the paying/buying price in the auction house). This value would change as different ways are dicovered to counter/augment this card as the supply/demand for it changes.

+1 both of these. (including use of Mojang Points, I like it)

I think "growth + anything" scrolls would be alright, but I don't like "growth + order" for the same reason you said; It makes it into an almost-distinct reasource seperate from the others, yet with limits of how it can be played. I'd prefer a new resource like decay, and possibly some wildcard costs. However, I can imagine a card that costs just one growth and order each with then 6 additional wildcard cost could have potential as a end-match level card, but if it was 4 growth + 4 order, I don't see it being very good as opposed to a straight 8 cost one reasource card. </all just my 2am opinions :P >

Yeah, it was called "decay" and I really would like to see it return into the game. It would give more varitey to the decks possible and which ones you encounter on the single player.

What if you pay to have access to amulets. Amulets have various effects, such as one might give you slightly more gold per match, or one might make it more likely to get a rare scroll from a random scroll, or a set that allow you to choose what resource you get when buying scrolls?

Edit: in addition to amulets, or maybe instead, Charms. They do various things in a similar way to amulets, only after 1 / 3 / some number of uses, they break.

I also really like the idea of being able to buy skins for your idols. Without buying, you still have access to the obelisk (or the obelisk and the skull thingy), but you can have blue-leaved silver tress, or magma square, or so on by purchasing. (and perhaps special enemies in the single-player campaign have these too to show them off to the players).

One more thing: an additional game mode where you can "buy" enemies from the single-player-campaign (assuming it's divided in such a way as it makes it possible, such as with some prominent characters and bosses and such). You can then use their deck, even if you don't have the cards for it. I'm not certain about this one, but the evil mode in LotR The Third Age was the funnest part of the game.

Also, will the purchase system use the steam convention of 1 pound = 1 euro = 1 dollar, or will it use real exchange rates?

Also, something to keep in mind, is the new law in Japan that forbids games wherein you use real money to purchase something that is decided randomly and then you can exchange a full set in for another thing. Just buying something at random is fine though. (My friend lives in Japan, so I've only heard through her how it works, you should check out the specifics of it yourselves, yes?)

Playing today, I had a quick idea for another multi-resource deck scroll. What about ones like a cheeper royal vangaurd, only instead of boosting all creatures, just boost one resource's units?
